In this article, we’ll answer the question, “Is Disney World fun for adults with no kids?” to help you decide if a Disney trip just for adults is right for you.

If you’ve never been to Walt Disney World or you haven’t returned since you were a kid, you may be wondering if going to Disney as an adult is a thing (it is) and, more importantly, if it’s a fun thing (it is).

Consider this: One study found that over 40% of Disney World visitors have zero kids with them.

But who needs statistics to prove that WDW is a ball for grownups? Not us. 😎

In fact, Walt Disney created Disneyland and Disney World to be for both kids and adults, and there wasn’t a requirement for those adult Disney fans to travel with kids in order to enjoy the parks.

Some of the old advertising even promoted directly (and only) to adults:

Today, between bar-hopping at Epcot (or on the Skyliner or the Monorail), the Disney Springs entertainment district, and Walt’s favorite pastime of remaining young at heart, you can undoubtedly have an incredible time — maybe even the best time ever — if you take a Disney vacation without kids.

Disney World has excellent experiences for adults, including entertainment, nightlife (not just at night, either) and dining options.

For example, at Disney Springs and the World Showcase in Epcot, you can watch live music for free. Bars like Oga’s Cantina in Hollywood Studios and La Cava del Tequila at the Mexican pavilion in Epcot cater to an adult crowd. And luxury dining options like Victoria and Albert’s at the Grand Floridian Resort and Monsieur Paul in the French pavilion in Epcot are so high-priced and fancy that you wouldn’t want to bring (most) kids.

(Personally, we love doing a progressive dinner in one of the Disney parks or at Disney Springs.)

Epcot and Disney Springs: Disney World’s Most Adult-Friendly Areas

Ask any Disney adult, and they’ll tell you that Epcot is the best Disney park for kid-free travelers, followed by Disney Springs, the unofficial fifth Disney park to many of us.

Yes, Epcot is home to the famous drinking-around-the-world experience, where you stop at each World Showcase country for a beer, cocktail or glass of wine. With 11 main pavilions and even more stops during a festival, that adds up to a lot of alcohol.

But aside from that, Epcot also just feels the most adult-friendly of the parks. It’s large and spread out, so you don’t pass character-heavy dark ride after dark ride. Plus, attractions like Living with the Land, The American Adventure and the World Showcase’s cultural films clearly attract an older age group.

Then there’s Disney Springs, which is a free shopping, dining and entertainment district that’s larger than any of the Disney parks but welcomingly void of characters and rides. There are plenty of shops here where you can buy Disney souvenirs, but there are also lots of stores that don’t have a Disney focus.

Whether you want to grab coffee and donuts for the morning; stock up on this season’s Disney collection of clothing, housewares or holiday decor; or watch a live band while sipping a margarita by the water, Disney Springs is the place to do it.

Whether you like early morning jogs along the Disney Beach Club’s paths, riding thrill rides until midnight, or having a decadent meal with top-notch service, Walt Disney World is most definitely a bonafide vacation destination for adults.

Plus, don’t forget Walt’s entire argument for creating his parks in the first place: Adults are just children who have grown up.

There’s a lot to be said for having a childlike night at Magic Kingdom, too, complete with adolescent rides, ice cream cones and watching the fireworks in awe.
