Does Disney do fireworks every night? Read on to find Disney World fireworks time information and more!
One of the many, many experiences Walt Disney World theme parks offer is nighttime entertainment, which is a bit different in each park. (They like to spread the magic around, you know?) 🤗
And while “Disney parks” and “fireworks” are practically synonymous, you may be surprised to find out that only two of the four theme parks actually have nightly fireworks shows.
In this article, we’ll go over the Disney fireworks shows in Magic Kingdom and Epcot so you know what to expect — and when to expect it.

Which Disney Parks Have Fireworks?
Magic Kingdom and Epcot are the two Disney parks with nighttime fireworks shows. Plus, depending on the daytime and nighttime entertainment at the Disney parks, you may hear a few fireworks here and there if they’re part of a stage show.
Nighttime Entertainment at Hollywood Studios
At Hollywood Studios, you can see Fantasmic! at night, but seating’s limited. This show has effects, pyrotechnics, and stunts, so while it’s not a fireworks show per se, it is an extravaganza.
Hollywood Studios also has the Wonderful World of Animation projection show on the Chinese Theatre’s facade. We love this show, and it’s especially nice to see it during an After Hours event when there’s practically no one there compared to the daytime crowds.

Magic Kingdom Fireworks
The Magic Kingdom fireworks are part of the nighttime Happily Ever After show, which also includes projections on the castle and down Main Street, plus lights, lasers, and other special effects.
What Time are Fireworks at Magic Kingdom?
As of this writing, Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom is scheduled for 8 p.m. each night. To confirm the time of the event for the day you’ll be in the park, use the My Disney Experience app. Here’s what to do:
- Open the My Disney Experience app. You don’t need to log in, but you can.
- The default view should be on Magic Kingdom Park for the current day.
- Click Today’s Showtimes.
- Find the listing for Happily Ever After.
In the event of bad weather, like heavy winds or a thunderstorm, Happily Ever After may be canceled.
Epcot Fireworks
The Epcot fireworks are part of the nighttime Luminous: The Symphony of Us show, which is set over the World Showcase Lagoon.
The Epcot Fireworks Schedule
As of this writing, Luminous at Epcot is scheduled for 9 p.m. each night. To confirm the event time on your park day, use the My Disney Experience app:
- Open the My Disney Experience app. You can be logged in or logged out to proceed to the next step.
- The default view should be on Magic Kingdom Park for the current day.
- Click the Spaceship Earth icon for Epcot.
- Click Today’s Showtimes link.
- Find the listing for Luminous.
In the event of inclement weather, Luminous may be canceled.
Magic Kingdom vs. Epcot Fireworks: What You Should Know
Both Disney fireworks shows are excellent, but they have different vibes, mainly due to the crowds.
At Magic Kingdom, it can be very difficult to find a good viewing spot, especially if you want to clearly see the projections. You’ll notice that some people claim their spot early in the day — like early early, hours before the show.
Once the show begins, cast members will loudly usher people through the walkways, and they continue to do this throughout the show, which can negatively impact your experience. We talk about this more in this blog post. 🙄
This is an obnoxious system whether you’ve claimed a designated fireworks-watching space or not. If you’re standing within the sectioned-off areas, you’ll still have the cast members aggressively shooing people along. And if you’re trying to maneuver down Main Street or in the hub-and-spoke section in front of the castle, you’ll relentlessly be told to keep walking.
✨ Pro Tip: If you don’t mind missing the projections, head to Tomorrowland or Fantasyland, where you can see the fireworks in the sky sans crowds.
Epcot fireworks, however, have a completely different feel.
Since you can see the Epcot fireworks from anywhere around the World Showcase Lagoon, there are a lot of places to stop and watch.
If you’re going to claim a spot, the area near the Port of Entry Shop, at the entrance of the World Showcase, is popular. We’ve also had good views from the Japan pavilion, especially if you head up the outdoor steps of the restaurant.
You can also see the show as you stroll around the lagoon, which is our favorite way of watching it. We like to head to the Germany pavilion, get a sweet treat from Karamell-Küche (you can mobile order), and then slowly walk the long way around the lagoon, heading to Italy, The American Adventure, etc.
Wrapping Up
The short answer to “does Disney do fireworks every night?” is yes — but there are exceptions. While there are nightly fireworks shows at Magic Kingdom and Epcot, they’re weather-depending, so there’s a chance they could be delayed or canceled.
The best way to stay on top of the Disney entertainment schedule is via the My Disney Experience app.
