Do they serve alcohol at Disney World? This article tells you everything you need to know!

For a lot of us, part of the fun of a Disney World vacation — especially when you’re talking about a Disney for couples trip with just two adults — is getting a cocktail or three on a hot day or balmy night.

And some of the Disney parks (lookin’ at you, Epcot) have particularly great options whether you like craft beer, wine or cocktails.

Where exactly can you buy and drink alcohol in Disney World, though? And is Magic Kingdom a dry park?

Let’s get into it. 🥂

Alcohol is pretty much sold everywhere in Disney World, but the rules vary by location regarding where exactly you can buy it and whether or not you can bring your own.

Read on to find out where you can drink at the four theme parks, Disney resorts, and Disney Springs. We touch on drinking at water parks, too.

Can You Get a Drink at Magic Kingdom?

Magic Kingdom is the one place on Disney property where you can’t get quick-serve alcohol. That means there isn’t a stand or walk-up bar that will serve you a drink that you can then walk around with in the park.

However, Magic Kingdom does serve alcohol at its sit-down, table-service restaurants. That means that while you can’t get a cocktail at, say, Casey’s Corner, you can get one at Crystal Palace.

Alcohol is also served at Magic Kingdom dessert parties and in the private Club 33.

Can You Drink Alcohol at Epcot?

Yes. Yes, you certainly can drink alcohol at Epcot. In fact, that’s why so many people head to the park and make a beeline for the World Showcase — to drink around the world.

Epcot serves alcohol at quick-service eateries, sit-down restaurants, and walk-up bars, and there are a lot of options. There are even more places to grab a drink during a festival when extra food and drink stands pop up in the World Showcase and throughout the rest of the park.

🍋 If you like limoncello, pistachio, or both, head to the Via Napoli bar, to the left of the restaurant, and order the limoncello flight (pictured above). Thank me later.

Do They Sell Alcohol at Hollywood Studios?

You can get alcohol at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at various spots, just like in Epcot, and walk around the park with it. There are fewer options in Hollywood Studios for getting a drink to-go when compared to Epcot, but there are still plenty to choose from.

Also, if you’re at Oga’s Cantina and are ready to head out, you can ask for a drink in a to-go cup to bring into the park (but not to leave the park with).

Do They Sell Alcohol at Animal Kingdom?

Two cocktails at a bar in Animal Kingdom.

Same as with Epcot and Hollywood Studios, you can get a drink at Animal Kingdom at a quick-service spot, walk-up bar or sit-down restaurant. It doesn’t feel like there are a ton of options in this park to get an adult drink, but they’re there if you’re dying for one.

We like to get an icy cocktail before or after riding Expedition Everest at the Thirsty River Bar right next door. For an especially grownup experience, head to Tambu Lounge, which serves tapas and unique cocktails with a view of the water.

Can You Buy Alcohol at Disney Springs?

We love getting a drink at Disney Springs and listening to a live band or taking a break mid-shopping. Similar to the Disney theme parks (other than Magic Kingdom), you can get a drink in Disney Springs at a sit-down restaurant or a walk-up bar, and you can take it to-go.

We like Dockside Margaritas for, duh, margaritas; Splitsville’s walk-up outdoor bar for pina coladas; and City Works for a craft beer or hard cider.

Do Disney Resorts Sell Alcohol?

A cocktail at the Grand Floridian.

Yes, the Disney resorts sell alcohol at its bars, restaurants and gift shops. In some cases, you can get a drink and walk around, and in other instances, it’s obvious that you should stay put where you ordered it and finish your drink there (like if they don’t serve it in a disposable cup). You can always ask if the bar will give you the drink to-go, too.

Are You Allowed to Bring Alcohol Into Disney World?

A pina colada in Disney Springs.

You can’t bring your own alcohol into a Disney theme park (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom) or a Disney water park (Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon).

However, you can bring your own alcohol to a Disney resort, so long as it isn’t carried or consumed by a person under 21 years old. For example, you can get a bottle of wine to have in your hotel room or even have a 6-pack of beer delivered from a nearby supermarket.

⚠️ Note that you can’t bring glass around Disney resort pools, and you can’t have alcohol of any kind in the pool, either.

Also, according to property rules, you can bring a bottle of wine to Disney Springs if you want to have it with your meal, but you may have to pay a corkage fee.

Wrapping Up

Whether you decide to get a hard lemonade to calm your nerves post-Tower of Terror or indulge in a savory cocktail in an elevated Disney resort lounge, there are ample opportunities to enjoy a drink on your WDW vacation.

Obviously, stay hydrated — Orlando heat is no joke, and alcohol only dehydrates you more — and be careful of overdoing it unless you want to risk being kicked out of Disney World for good.

Otherwise, cheers to a deliciously magical trip for two!
