Wondering if Disney’s quick-service dining plan is worth the cost? Welcome to the club! Let’s find out together.

Recently, we batted around the idea of making a quick trip to Walt Disney World before the springtime heat sets in. Since we don’t usually stay on Disney property — and even when we have, we usually book our park tickets through AAA for the savings — we’ve never been faced with the question of whether or not to add a dining plan to our package.

After doing some very quick math, I decided that if we do decide to book this mini-vacation, the quick-service dining plan is most likely worth the cost.

In this article, I’m going to crunch the numbers some more to get a bonafide answer.

Disney World has lots of quick-service eateries, and in some parks, the QS options are even better than the sit-down restaurants.

Eating a QS meal can free up a lot of time to experience the rest of the park, and it can also give you plenty of options at whatever point hunger strikes. Plus, QS locations don’t take reservations, so you just show up when you want and get your meal.

Here’s what’s included in the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan:

  • 2 QS meals, including beverages, per night of stay, which means including the day you arrive
  • 1 snack or non-alcoholic drink per night of stay
  • 1 refillable mug

Pro Tip: Your meals and snacks can be redeemed at any point during your stay.

If you don’t use all of your meals or snacks one day, they’ll roll over to the next day. You can even use them on your checkout day — they won’t expire until midnight.

Okay, so you know that you get 2 meals and 1 snack or non-alcoholic drink per day of your stay, plus the refillable resort mug, but what does all that mean, exactly?

Quick-Service Meals

Your dining plan includes 2 entrees from QS locations per day. You can get breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Each meal also includes 1 alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage. Your options are:

  • Beer
  • Cocktails
  • Coffee
  • Hard cider
  • Hot chocolate
  • Milkshakes
  • Sangria
  • Smoothies
  • Soda
  • Tea
  • Wine

Snacks and Non-Alcoholic Drinks

Your dining plan includes 1 snack or non-alcoholic beverage per day, such as:

  • Bottled water
  • Coca-Cola drink
  • Cup of soup
  • Ice cream
  • Fruit
  • Popcorn

Non-single-serving items are not included. For example, you can’t get popcorn in a souvenir container as part of the dining plan.

The cost of the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan depends on your length of stay in Walt Disney World, and you have to purchase the plan for your entire trip — or at least for your length of time at the hotel where you have the vacation package. (We’ve had longer Disney World trips and stayed at more than one hotel while there.)

As of 2025, the Quick-Service Dining Plan costs $59.14 per adult per day, not including your checkout day.

How Does the Quick-Service Dining Plan Cost Break Down?

The real question is: When it comes to your budget, is the QS Dining Plan actually worth it? Let’s see. 🤑

Cost of Disney Quick-Service Meals

Let’s take a classic Walt Disney World quick-service eatery: Casey’s Corner on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom.

The most expensive entree is $14.99, which includes an all-beef, foot-long hot dog topped with chili and cheese. Magic Kingdom’s QS spots don’t sell alcohol, so let’s say you get a soda with it for $5.59.

So far, we’re at a total of $20.58 for the day.

Now, let’s say you park-hop and head to Hollywood Studios for the second part of the day. We love the ABC Commissary, so we’ll get our second meal there.

Entrees at the ABC Commissary range from $11.49 to $13.69. We’ll get one that’s right in the middle at $12.99. Since this park serves alcohol, let’s get a glass of sangria as our beverage, which costs $13 (cocktails here go up to $17.50).

The ABC Commissary meal costs $25.99, which brings the day’s QS meal total to $46.57. We’re already pretty close to that dining plan cost of about $60 per day.

Cost of Disney Snacks and Beverages

My favorite Disney World snack is the popcorn you get from the popcorn carts. According to Disney Food Blog, a regular popcorn costs $7.

And if we look at the Casey’s Corner menu again, a bottle of water costs $4. So let’s split the difference and say a snack or drink costs an average of $5.50.

So far, the total you’d spend on food for the day out-of-pocket is $52.07. We’re still not at the $60 mark yet, but we’re close — and you could easily be there if you ordered more expensive QS meals or beverages.

Cost of the Disney Refillable Mug

Having a Disney refillable mug included in the dining plan is really what puts it over the line for me.

We talk a lot more about these refillable cups in this blog post, but here’s a quick recap:

  • You can buy and use a refillable mug at any Disney resort.
  • The mug’s value is $22.99.
  • You get to keep the cup after your trip, so it doubles as a souvenir.

Beverage station drinks at Disney resorts are around $4, so if you get at least 6 drinks during your stay, you’ve paid yourself back for the mug.

Let’s say you fill up your mug twice per day — once in the morning with coffee, then once at night, after your park day and before you head back to the room. That’s $8 in beverages per day that you’d have to pay for otherwise.

That’s exactly the amount you need to reach that $60 threshold, according to our pretend day of eating.

Final Verdict: Is Disney’s Quick-Service Dining Plan Worth It?

Illustration of a guy and girl on a Disney date night.

Unless you like to have several sit-down restaurant meals during your Disney vacation, we think the Quick-Service Dining Plan is absolutely worth it.

When we stay on property, we always have breakfast at the resort, which counts as one of the included QS meals. We’re likely to fill up that mug twice, too — once with coffee, then again with something cold to bring into the park.

Even if you have a dinner reservation, you’re probably still going to stop to eat at some point during your day. And who doesn’t get at least one Disney snack or a drink while they’re in the park?

There’s also a benefit to not having to watch every penny you spend on food throughout your vacation. You know exactly how much you paid for the dining plan, so your only choices are what and where to eat.

Most importantly, the cost comparisons check out. You’d have a hard time spending just $60 per day on 2 QS meals, 1 snack or drink, and unlimited resort beverages on your own, especially if you opt for the heartier meals and those pricey cocktails.
