To make the most of your time in the park, it pays to know what ride has the longest wait at Epcot.

Epcot is home to a dizzying number of rides, shows, and other types of attractions. While some of these experiences have relatively low wait times, others could have you standing in a queue for well over an hour.

You may be wondering what ride has the longest wait at Epcot, and we here at Disney for Couples have the intel to share!

Epcot has 11 rides, and three of these attractions have some of the longest wait times of any Walt Disney World park.

Right now (and for the foreseeable future), the Epcot ride with the longest wait is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Disney nixed the virtual boarding groups for GOTG in February 2025, so guests must either wait in the standby queue or purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for the attraction.

Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure can also have some notoriously long wait times.

👉 Oh, and here’s a pro tip: If Journey Into Imagination has a wait time greater than 20 minutes, you should just go ahead and leave the park. We’re kidding, of course. (Well, sort of.)

On average, you can expect to wait around 60 minutes to board Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. But that’s just the average.

Depending on factors like day of the week and time of year, it’s not uncommon to see an 80-minute or longer wait time.

If you’re staying on property, your Walt Disney World resort may offer early entry to Epcot, which is something you’ll definitely want to take advantage of for high-demand rides like GOTG.

Spaceship Earth, The Living Seas with Nemo and Friends, Gran Fiesta Tour, and Journey Into Imagination With Figment generally have low wait times, ranging from 5 minutes
(which can sometimes mean it’s a walk-on) to 15 minutes.

Spaceship Earth may sometimes hit a 20-minute wait, but anything longer than that is a sign that you’re dealing with a busy day.

Remember our sort-of joke about Journey Into Imagination? On one of our Disney for Couples excursions to Epcot, Journey had a 25-minute wait. Once we saw the wait time, we decided to leave the park. Not every pair of vacationing Disney adults can do this, but we didn’t regret it for a second.

Wrapping Up

Your day at Epcot shouldn’t have to be spent in tight outdoor queues (we’re thinking of you, Spaceship Earth), which is why it pays to know which rides have the longest wait times well in advance.

That way, you’ll be able to better plan your visit to enjoy as many rides as possible while saving some of the E-ticket attractions for the first part of the day — or 15 minutes before the park closes.
